The Reception Class is far more important than you can imagine to a child. It is a transistional stage. A time where much more is expected of a child than Nursery Room.
School uniform becomes compulsory, so also the need to show more independence and responsibility. More routined activities and segmented structure to the child's days are introduced, to prepare children for Primary Class.
Reception is called what it is, because it receives children into formal education!
